William Magee, MD, DDS

Plastic Surgeon, Craniofacial Surgeon
Bio:
A leading plastic and craniofacial surgeon, Dr. Magee devotes half of his professional
life as a volunteer to Operation Smile, and serves as chairman and lifetime member of the
Board of Directors of Operation Smile. Dr. Magee performs reconstructive surgery on numerous
overseas missions each year. He also oversees OpSmile's World Care program that provides funding
to bring children with severe conditions to the U.S. for free surgery. He is also driving
force behind the establishment of craniofacial surgery centers in countries around the world.
Featured on "NBC Nightly News" and "Dateline NBC" he has appeared on "Leeza," "Hour of Power,"
"48 Hours," "CBS Sunday Morning" and CBS's "Touched by an Angel," "People Magazine," "Time"
and "Ladies' Home Journal" with wife, Kathy Magee.
Received Bachelor of Science degree from Mount St. Mary's College, a D.D.S. from the University
of Maryland, an M.D. from George Washington University Medical School, and honorary degrees from
Fordham University, Loyola College, Old Dominion University, Villanova University and Denison University.
Served general surgery residency at the University of Virginia Medical School and was awarded the
Hays-Fulbright Scholar Grant from the Franco-American Commission where he studied with Dr. Paul
Tessier, the father of craniofacial surgery. Completed his plastic surgery residency at the Eastern
Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in 1978.
