The minimal scar breast reduction

By Robin Merril Lorenzo

Other Options

Liposuction

Virtually scarless and a great option for those with small breasts who require the least amount of reduction. Instead of a large skin incision, liposuction uses a few small punctures to remove excess fatty tissue. Best for women whose breasts are full, firm, and not sagging. Also used as an adjunct procedure to remove excess tissue at the sides of the breasts in the underarm area.

Free nipple graft

For women with the largest breasts (Four pounds or more per side), free nipple graft is often the best choice. Because once you get beyond a certain distance, the pedicle (tongue of tissue through which nerves and blood supply pass to the nipple) is no longer reliable. Free nipple graft involves amputating the nipple, removing excess breast tissue, and then re-attaching the nipple.
