To this day I'm still torn if I would have had the procedure knowing the final results. the insurance company paid for the surgery due to the medical nessecity. I called and checked the surgeon and was assured he was a board certified plastic surgeon. The surgery was supposed to be performed by two surgeons, but on the operating table I was told that only one would be performing the procedure because the other surgeon was called away on an emergency.

At that point I wish I had called it off. The surgeon took before pictures but did not take any after to add to his 'book' of before and after pictures he had shown to me. After about six months I had a follow up check up and I was not really sure what to make of the results because he kept telling me that they would "get better".

Well it has been three years now and they have not improved. I tried to get a lawyer about a year and a half ago, but I could not get one to take my case becaue there was not enough money to be made. I contacted my plastic surgeon to get a referral for corrective surgery. I went and saw the surgeon and he was appalled at the results, he even asked how old the surgeon was because it looked to him like a new surgeon had done the job....

He sent in the quote to the insurance company to "correct" my breasts and i was declined because the procedure was not medically neccessary. I appealed only to be denied again. I am not sure what recourse if any i have. To correct my breasts so that they will look "normal" will cost ME $10,000+, which I don't have.

Our weight alone is not a sufficient measure to assess our risk for disease. Total body fat, fat distribution and the consequences of dieting must be considered as well.
