I am currently 3 weeks and three days post-op from a tummy tuck. The first three days were the worst, with many spasms and cramps in my abdomen. Also, the drainages tubes that had been placed in my hips were a little gross to deal with. The tubes came out after three days and that did hurt somewhat - it felt like a lot of pressure. At this time, the bandages were removed and I was given an abdominal binder to wear.
After five days my hand (where the IV had been placed, yes it did hurt - a bit) quit hurting. This surprised me, I had IV's before in my arm and never had a problem. This one did hurt, though. I continued to have muscle spasms in my tummy for about 10 days. Getting up and down was difficult for about two weeks. I slept in a recliner for two weeks.
The stitches in my belly button were removed after 10 days. Although my stomach is numb, I still felt the pressure when removing the sutures. I currently have some swelling, but I can sleep on my side in the bed now, and I have begun to workout again with light weights. Instead of the binder, my doctor has allowed me to wear a support garment and, this week, he said I did not have to wear it sleeping anymore.
All said and done I am so very pleased with my decision.

About 70 percent of young women try to lose weight. That dissatisfaction with their body weight stays with them into adulthood.
