I decided to check out the possibility of getting implants after having thought about it for years. I talked to several girlfriends who had it done and were happy with it.
I went to a doctor in La Jolla, California. I was impressed with his office staff and with him. I had the surgery and it was very painful for the first few days. I stayed mostly in bed.
After about two weeks, I pretty much felt back to normal. The most important thing, I think, is to listen to what your doctor tells you to do and follow his instructions.
It has been 3 years since my procedure and I am very happy with the results and only wish I had done it sooner.

Here are more details:

How results differed from what I expected:
-I look better than I expected
-I feel that the doctor I chose was excellent

Biggest fears pre-procedure:
-It would not look any different
-That there would be complications during surgery
-That I would look funny or not as good as I expected

Healing aids used:
-I took Vitamin C before
-Followed all Dr.'s orders to a "T"
-Used cocoa butter after and drank a lot of water

Number of doctors consulted:
1

Number of years I thought about having the procedure:
14

Had an elective procedure before:
No

Complications or follow-up procedures:

Only going back for post-op checks and pictures.
