'Breast Implants are Not for Me'

Pros:
fuller breasts
Cons:
assymetrical, fallen breasts, possibility of illness,
future surgery needed
Cost:
$2800

Healing time:
2 months

Pain-o-meter:  5

I had breast augmentation on Dec. 2, 1999. So far, the only problem I have is that my surgeon put in too many cc's and didn't pay attention to small assymetries in my breasts. I have decided as a result to have them removed because I did not want them that big. I also did not research enough before and did not know of the possible health risks or the fact that I would need several more surgeries down the road. Now I think I have to get my breasts lifted to compensate for the sagging that I never had before, but at least I won't have to get my implants replaced 10 times.

I think that breast implants could be a good thing for some women, but don't make the same mistake i did - please research breast implants more thoroughly than I did, and see a board certified surgeon.

Our weight alone is not a sufficient measure to assess our risk for disease. Total body fat, fat distribution and the consequences of dieting must be considered as well.
