'Do it! Do it!'

Pros:
I'm not a freak.
I can wear clothes off the peg.
My boobs are now big, but not unattractively so.
Cons:
Having to take the time off work (at least 2 weeks).
The hospital stay.
The pain I had when they removed the drains (for about 5 seconds!)
Cost:
Nothing

Healing time:
Still recovering

Pain-o-meter:  4

I am 21 years old, 5'2" tall, 113lbs pre-op (I now weigh little over 100lbs) and I was a 30HH. I looked absolutely ridiculous. They weren't particularly droopy but I knew they would be in a few years. Also, one was two sizes bigger than the other.

I went to see my GP in 1997, and was referred to the hospital (there was no problem with me getting my surgery done on the NHS as I couldn't have lost any more weight) and my op finally came through for 26th July this year. Good job, I didn't want to be the freaky teacher!

I nearly pulled out before the op due to my absolute fear of blood tests, but my boyfriend convinced me to go through with it by showing me my bras and some pictures I'd had taken as 'before' shots.

I always ended up in tears in lingerie shops before.

"What, you're a 30? No, we only go up to a D in a 30..."

Anyway I was out of hospital after 2 days, and out and about 2 days after that. I'm now living my life as normal, except I can't have a shower yet (bandages have to stay on till my stitches come out on Friday, I'm sure I smell utterly minging)...

The bra I am now wearing is a 32DD with swelling and bandages, so I reckon I'll be a 30DD.

I love them.

I would recommend it to absolutely anyone. It is literally just 48 hours of discomfort and then you're through it. The lady in the next hospital bed had the same thing done (though she was older and a lot bigger generally - a 42GG or something) and she was ecstatic, though she had a few complications, like being sick and stuff.

Well anyway, when it comes down to it, it's your choice. But I had to know if there was another way to be, and there is. Bummer that I was born this way, but I was, and now I'm not like that any more.

Here are more details:

How results differed from what I expected:
They look incredibly natural.
Much better than I expected.

Biggest fears pre-procedure:
The thought that I would end up a AA cup!
Or that they wouldn't take enough off! The scars didn't bother me.

Healing aids used:
I was given a tranquilizer to calm me down before the blood tests and op as I am a needle-phobic.
Nothing could touch me then!
I was invincible!

Number of doctors consulted:
2

Number of years I thought about having the procedure:
6

Had an elective procedure before:
No

Complications or follow-up procedures:

Very low blood pressure meant I couldn't have morphine.
To be honest I didn't really need it.
