'PRK Eye Surgery - Painful but Worth it'

$1000

Healing time:
5 days/1 year

Some advice - before this operation, take your own full coverage sunglasses, the ones they give you are dorky and were too big for my head. Also, get someone to go with you, my eye drops wore off when the doc was trying to fit my contacts and I had to be pored into a taxi (the sunlight was too much for my eyes). Also, make sure to run the shower to humidify your room. Stop smoking and drinking a week before...it dries your eyes out and you'll pay with pain.

Smelling my eye burning was distressing and now I am extremely sensitive to light. After the surgery, the contact "bandages" felt like they were inside out and filled with sand. I also felt like I didn't have control of opening my eye and now, I see halos
vision has regressed a bit - but still, the whole thing was worth it because now I have 20/20 vision.
