'Bad Beverly Hills Lift'

Pros:
none
Cons:
read my story
Cost:
$13,000

Healing time:
2 months

Pain-o-meter:  4

After my facelift, I ended up with very noticable scars and a strip of hairloss almost 1/2 inch wide from forehead to ear. I went to a Beverly hills surgeon, mostly because he had been featured on a news show and had a prestigeous address.

A few days after the surgery, the stiches were removed the incision started to seperate. I went back to him with my concern that the wound would scar. he said not to worry that any scars would be hidden by my hair. His nurse said the scars would be so faint that even a hairdresser wouldn't be able to see them. He, the nurse and the receptionist greeted me with "Oh you look great" but I knew I didn't and I wasn't being overly self-critical.

My haristylist said she had to admit it was one of the most obvious scarring she'd seen. And in Beverly Hills she sees results of a lot of surgery, but it's not discussed and she doesn't name names. To make things worse, one eye brow is higher and straighter than the other, and they said that they would even out over time. that was two years ago.

The last time I saw him I mentioned again about the uneven eyebrows. he shrugged and said no face is perfectly symetrical. True, but I didn't expect to pay $13,000 to have eyebrow more uneven than before surgery. He also performed a mid-cheek lift that looked great for a few months, but didn't last.
The fat pad, fullest part of my cheek that was raised, dropped back to normal after a few months. I'd love to find a surgeon that could improve my results. I don't look hideous, other than the scarring and uneven eyebrows (I now wear bangs) there really is no change at all. Noone commented that I looked better, worse or different. I'm sure it wasn't the job a top surgeon could have done.

The tough part is finding a doctor. Mine was board certified.I know there are some world-class cosmetic surgeons in LA but the folks that benefit the most are not admitting to ever having had a cosmetic procedure, much less refering someone to their doctor.
