I went to school in North Carolina and was living down there so I decided to have my surgery done at Duke. I had an excellent surgeon who has been one of the few US doctors to speak at many overseas conferences. They gave me a thorough evaluation first.
I hated the fact of wearing my glasses before the procedure for 2 weeks because they were like coke bottles. They did one eye at a time. The first one I was a little figdity so they had to do a tune up a few months late at no cost. The eye went from 20/1000 to 20/30 in a matter of minutes. There was very little pain, just a little freaky having your eyes held open by this ring thing. The seditive made me hyper.
The second eye was perfect and went to 20/15. The sedative made me nauseous at that time, but it was the best decision I ever made.
