I had a breast augmentation 14 years ago. Piece of cake. Then I had a baby and gained and lost a bunch of weight. I wanted to have liposuction but had too much loose skin, so I was referred to tummy tuck by three doctors. I finally went with one I trusted who did breasts. He told me what I to expect, but I naively thought I would do better than most did.
Upon waking up after surgery in my hospital bed, I was in a great deal of discomfort and felt as if my knees were stitched to my breasts. I was scared if I moved too much, I would pull myself in half (You won't). I insisted on going home that night because I was scared - used the pain medication they gave me and came to my doctor's office the next day for follow up.
I had this done on Friday and went back to work on Monday (believe it or not). I had a desk job, but even walking to and from my car was very painful - I was hunched over and my back was killing me. Slowly over the next week I straightened up little by little. The swelling was pretty severe, but I immediately began to see what my new tummy would look like. Every day got better and better. Within one month I was moving around pretty well and within 6 months I stopped feeling like I was going to split in two. Now I am four years out and cannot express how happy I am with the end result - I would do it again in a minute - Worth every penny - just be prepared and take enough time away from work to really feel better. Don't push it like I did.
I am scheduled for a hip (butt, thigh) lift in about a month and really looking forward to it.
