My tummy tuck - it has only been 10 days, but what a change!

Pros:
It has only been 10 days, but what a change! My stomach even though swollen is much firmer and flatter. I'm able to drive and do light activities around the house. I have tried on my pants and blouses and there is not bulge! I know it will even be better as the swelling goes down.
Cons:
I really do not have any cons at this point.
Cost:
$5900.00 CDN

Healing time:
Still healing

Pain-o-meter:  4

I'm a mother of 3 and had gained and lost weight all my life. I lost 75 pounds last year. My stomach looked like a road map with all the stretch marks. I had what they called a apron stomach.

I had quite a bit of skin above the belly button and so they had to do the tummy tuck which is an incision from hip bone to hip bone but because of the excessive skin I had to have a veritcal incesion starting from just below the breast bone right down to the pubic area. So for me I will not be wearing a bikini but this was never a priority for me and the doctor was up front about the scars.

I just want to be able to buy and wear the right size skirts and pants. I always had to one size bigger because of the extra skin and flab. And no amount of exersice would decrease the skin I had left. The doctor removed approximatley 7 pounds of skin and fat. Actually I expected much more scaring. I no longer have a spare tire!

Here are more details:

How results differed from what I expected:
Actually I have to say better. I had read and reviewed as many photos that I could. I was trying not to set my expections to high. The benefits to be able to wear my clothes and feel good out way the scaring. Beside for me I never showed my stomach anyways.

Biggest fears pre-procedure:
Before the surgery I think I was the most afraid of not waking up.

Healing aids used:
NO

Number of doctors consulted:
2

Number of years I thought about having the procedure:
1

Had an elective procedure before:
No

Complications or follow-up procedures:

I will need to go back next week for a touch up because there is extra skin that needs to be removed. When I'm laying flat you cannot see it. But when I stand it is a bit pouchey. My doctor noticed it after I stood up during my first check up. The procedure will be done under an local.
